Fabulous Tropical Getaway Essentials

Winter is here, holiday season almost began, making this moment a perfect time to start thinking about a tropical getaway. Sunny weather, warm water, sand between your toes – who wouldn’t want to be there right now? Tropical resorts are the perfect place to flaunt your best clothes and assets, too.

Since packing too many unnecessary items is every girl’s worst nightmare, here are some of the most fabulous essentials you should bring to a tropical destination this season.

Swimwear essentials

As we already mentioned, tropical vacation is the best place to show off your fabulous body, so make sure you bring adequate clothes. Naturally, swimwear is a must – halter bikinis, tassels, side cut-outs, straps, etc. are some of the hottest trends for the upcoming season as seen on Miami Swim Week. Of course, choose the cut in accordance with your body figure to be sure you feel as comfy as possible.

As for the cover-ups, follow the advice of the fashion icon Lainy Hedaya: “The bigger the caftan the better!” Dramatic caftans bring fabulous look indeed, especially when they’re paired with cute sandals. Shoes are too heavy for a suitcase anyway, so pack a few pairs of strappy sandals and you’ll be good to go.

Beauty essentials

Of course, sunscreen is a number one on your tropical getaway packing list. Consider bringing a separate pack of face sunscreen since they’re usually less greasy than body sunscreen. Next thing on the list is bug repellent – you don’t want your tanned body to be covered in mosquito bites, do you?

As for the makeup, keep it to a minimum. The sun will do well to your skin, so pack just a few essentials. Powder foundation instead of liquid one (because of the humidity and heat), waterproof eye makeup, bright lipsticks, and a tinted moisturiser might be all you need to look fabulous. Don’t forget to bring trendy nail polish as well! As for the colours, think summerish shades of green, orange, and purple.

Also, don’t forget to add GHD hair straightener to your tropical getaway list, especially if you are not lucky enough to have naturally wavy hair.

Resort wear essentials

There’s no better place to wear resort wear than in an actual resort, so you might want to stock up on pleated dresses, off-shoulder tanks, and fancy headwear. As we could see from resort 2017 fashion shows, long, lean lines printed all over, tie-dye, and airy wrap dresses are a must-have for the upcoming season.

Of course, there are some summerish classics always welcomed on a tropical beach, such as jean shorts, straw hat, romper overalls, etc. Christina Caradona of Trop Rouge suggests packing espadrilles and open-toe sandals and avoiding too much jewellery – just a few statement accessories will do just fine.

Tech essentials

Tropical destinations make gorgeous Instagram shots but you don’t want to get your smartphone wet. The solution is simple – pack a waterproof water case and get ready to make some memories. Speaking of memories, smartphone camera might not be good enough to capture every mesmerising moment and that’s why an HD camera should be in your bag, too.

In addition, you’ll need something to fill those lazy poolside afternoons, so make sure you pack a few good books, a tablet, and, of course, lots of music on your phone or music player. There’s nothing like hot summer hits to get you in the mood and help you relax.

Now, what are you waiting for? Pack the essentials, grab your passport and bon voyage! Soak up the sun, take a dip in the ocean, and relax – a tropical vacation will surely recharge your batteries.
